When owner Jill Atkinson opened her first shop in 2005 in the pretty Yorkshire village of Addingham, she wanted to create a shopping experience that was lovely and friendly and almost magical.  A shop with a soul.  She also wanted to create a shop that whatever your pocket, you would be able to find a gift to suit.

That shop had been a haberdashers fro nearly a century.  The magnificent haberdashery cabinet that once housed silks, cottons, buttons and a cornucopia of other things in now the home for stylish pottery, linens, glassware and a profusion of trinkets and gadgets.

Likewise, Jill's second shop in Easingwold, the picturesque village, on the edge of the Hambleton Hills retains the essence of the 1950's electrical emporium it once was.  The original parquet floor is still there and more often than not you'll hear big band music played on an old record player, a salute to the recording studio that used to be housed upstairs.

In both shops you'll find goods that reflect Jill's love of country living, all things English and unsurpassed design quality.  Whether it is the ever popular Cath Kidston range, the modern lifestyle range of Sandwich or the humour and joie de vivre of Jan Constantine's Union Jack cushions, The Olive Branch sets new standards in shopping.
